Returning Vet? Consider Opening A Franchise.

Post Date: November 11, 2009

As more and more veterans are returning home from active duty, they’re faced with the question, “What should I do with myself?”

With a shaky economy and elevated unemployment rate, opening up their own franchise seems to be an attractive choice.

This trend has picked up steam in recent years and is an easier transition than many imagine. Typically, vets have what it takes and then some to run their own businesses — dedication, determination, organization and leadership. They understand the importance of following a plan, implementing it, and capitalizing on every opportunity.

Franchising enables these returning vets to become business leaders and highly productive members of society.

The International Franchise Association (IFA) runs a program called VetFran, which helps returning service members access franchise opportunities through training, financial assistance, and industry support.

More than 2,100 veterans have opened franchises through this organization, and the number keeps growing. Franchising is not just fast food restaurants; the choices of business types and themes are greater than ever. We’re talking about exercise studios, automobile service centers, office supplies, the list goes on.

If you are a returning vet looking for a career opportunity, why not consider the franchising industry?  You already have the skills and qualifications, so what are you waiting for?

If you have already found the right concept, we can help you with the funding.  Schedule a consultation today.
